November 10-12

Featuring special guests Otis and Gail Ledbetter

Otis Ledbetter is pastor of Sonrise Church in Clovis, CA and along with Gail, founded Heritage Builders Global, a ministry dedicated to helping parents worldwide pass a spiritual legacy to their own kids. Otis and Gail are frequent conference speakers and have authored numerous books on family including "Your Heritage" and "Family Fragrance".

Friday, November 10: "It Starts @ Home!"

Welcome: 6:30 pm
Session One: 7:00 pm
* Rules, Rights, Responsibilities (80 Minutes)
We will identify and define the four pillars that support the family and family ministry within the church: Family Moments, Family Compass, Family Traditions, Family Fragrance. When a pillar seems weakened it likely isn’t because of a faulty pillar but a faulty foundation. Saturday’s sessions will make more sense and be more helpful when we first examine how to identify, inspect, repair and strengthen these pillars. We will learn by examining three windows of opportunity and what each means inside each of our parenting skill-sets.

Saturday, November 11: "Spiritual Formation @ Home!"

Welcome: 9:30 am
Session Two: 10:00 am
* Family Compass (80 Minutes)
In this session we will deal with intentionality. Parenting according to the intentional legacy we are passing: spiritual, emotional, and social. Parenting according to our child’s personality. It will include an examination of the personality chart. And, how to coach your teen through the game phase of life.

Session Three: 12:00 pm

* Family Fragrance (80 Minutes)
This session contains the practical applications of what we talk about in sessions one and two as to how it all comes together in the home and how all these practical “how to’s” to keep the atmosphere of the home smelling like the sweet AROMA of love. This will take on an interesting dynamic as the participants are encouraged to enter in the discussion and share what these practical components look like in the context of their own homes.

Sunday, November 12: "Drive Faith Home!"

Welcome: 9:30 am
Session Four: 10:00 am
* Family Meal Challenge 60 Minutes
 Over the past 20 years, research has shown what parents have known for a long time: sharing a fun family meal is good for the spirit, brain and health of all family members. Recent studies link regular family meals with the kinds of behaviors that parents want for their children: higher grade-point averages, resilience, and self-esteem. Additionally, family meals are linked to lower rates of substance abuse, teen pregnancy, eating disorders, and depression. We see family dinner as prime time to nourish ethical thinking and families are responding to this.

This project aims to bring families together to share their experiences and insights to help each other realize the benefits of family dinners. Together, they will figure out the resources needed – like tips for setting dinnertime goals, engaging everyone in meaningful conversation, and overcoming obstacles such as conflicting schedules – to improve the frequency and quality of their mealtime interaction.

Supplemental materials can be found here.

Each Family (only attendees) will receive free books and a flash drive with all the fun resources needed to make this a successful event in their home!

This conference is being provided at no cost. There are no registration fees, but we do ask that you register. Thank you.
